Oh man I feel for you. Right before the holidays! 10h job, yet ok to drive….hm
I’d be nervous as hell driving it like that without a real solid explanation for why it’s OK. Squealing means friction and rubbing and inevitably increased wear. Unless the source of the noise will be completely swapped out on the repair It sounds like a bad idea to run it. I’m not a Porsche trained expert, but he also doesn’t have a penny invested in your car.Ok
Pulled out of Costco and stepped on it.
engine light cane on and sounded like a hurt squirrel was in my engine every time I accelerated. Call my dealership they said come in end of February. That went over teal well. Showed up after work and apparently the engine misfired and threw A faulty knock valve code.10 hour job as engine needs to be moved. Tech said had nothing to do with me or going over 4k during break in. Reset the computer no light but hurt squirrel still in there. Part on the way for a feb install. Tek said no issues driving.
Tech said if the light blinks don’t drive it ,,,,, wink wink. I will have it towed in and they will be forced to fix it sooner than laterI’d be nervous as hell driving it like that without a real solid explanation for why it’s OK. They should put you in. a, loaner and take the car now . Dont discuss break in any more . Did they say they were ordering a new engine or just a part ? I never heard of moving an engine other than to take the engine out for a repair or rebuild . I don't like it . Do you have another shop (second opinion ) ?Tech said if the light blinks don’t drive it ,,,,, wink wink. I will have it towed in and they will be forced to fix it sooner than later
