Just more evidence that Porsche continuously improves and refines its iconic 911 model year after year... and also why I am totally satisfied with a 2023 C2! It's basically a 996 Turbo.
It was a fantastic video comparison on a road course. The handling of the 992 is superb and far exceeds the previous generations. I had 2 996 cars. The new car is far above it.

However, the 996 turbo has the GT1 engine, which is the perfect engine to modify at the time the tuners went ballistic on it they did the same with the 997 turbo which I have to this day, take a look at what a 996 turbo did at the Texas mile in 2009 it went 231 mph in a standing mile .

1) the 992 has an amazing suspension, the performance, technologies, a sophisticated, PDK, transmission, seamless, engine, comfort, and styling.

2) 996 turbo has a legendary 16 year production engine. 996-997 are the last dry sump engines in the turbo. It does have turbo lag with the tuners had to address. Bone stock even the 997 normally aspirated engine got the jump every time on a 996 turbo but they quickly got swallowed The strength of the 996 turbo is in a straight line and modified

. This was a mismatch comparison with a surprising result . The 992 beat it by three whole seconds, That is huge given the speed that the cars are traveling . It’s multiple car lengths.

992 is great! Hands-down. It is one amazing 911.

The ETA for my 992 C2 Cab is 12/30/22. I am counting down the days. According to TMD app, production starts in three days. I think this will be a big step up from my last sports car that I owned over 25 years ago (1988 Ford Mustang 5.0). Lol
Counting the days in anticipation is part of the fun. Like before Xmas! Porsche should offer, instead of an Advent calendar, a pre-delivery calendar! And I hear the Germans make pretty good chocolate.

Chuck, if we both retired there it might be an issue! 😎 We could build a racetrack for manuals only!
Done! In the meantime, I read that the drive down the Keys is unique in "that it combines both ocean and gulf views, with lots of wildlife sightings, tiki bars, interesting roadside stops". Maybe we could race on the Overseas Highway? ;)

The Keys are like Niagara Falls…..once you’ve seen them once….no need to see them again. Tiki bars are fun though.
