As I have already sent in my order for a 911 4S, I happened to be perusing a few dealership websites and found that some had 911's (new) on the lot...or so the website indicated. Each of the 911's that were listed had no price attached to the internet link. Instead, the ad said to "Call for price". So, I did. Never got a return call, but one of the dealerships sent me an email that said the two listed as "on the lot" were really in end-production (liars). In addition, the dealer sent me the price and said for each one there would be a $20K price adjustment (ADM). For example, one '23 911 Carrera 4 GTS was listed at an MSRP of $174K, plus the dealership would add an additional $20K.

Glad I ordered my car.

That is actually lower than what a lot of people were paying for it six months ago. The going rate was 35K over sticker and it led to a debate on another forum. I did not pay one cent over MSRP.. several others also did not pay, but that is the minority on a GTS.

They only see the short term gain. Dealerships were selling some cars at 100K over . They would have to sell people like you or I 8 cars to make what they get in a one shot deal. What they lose is the business of the loyal customers . They also lost the respect of the buyer and he's not going there again . He resents it even though he pays .

Just bad business in my opinion. Going for the quick buck and risking future business like you said…I just wasn’t raised that way for a get rich quick scheme.

I'm glad you got your allocation! We all need to remember which dealerships treated us well when the market corrects and it's time to make our next purchase.

Speaking of the market correcting, local dealerships that overpaid on trade ins still have them in inventory a year later and have dropped prices as much as $30k. They're still overpriced but it's slowly moving the right direction. They won't be as eager to pay over MSRP on non GT trades this year. Maybe that'll free up some allocations for first time buyers.🤞

I'm probably in the camp that most of you will disagree with. When I was looking for a new 992 Turbo S. Many of the dealers said 18 months to two years. I didn't ask any of them if they were charging an ADM. I found a dealer that had an allocation and I could have it with a $50,000 ADM. I took the deal and 5 months after I gave them a deposit, I was driving a brand new 2022 built the way I wanted it. I also looked at the low miles used market. They were asking $50,000 to $100,000 over MSRP. Bottom line is waiting two years, I loose two years of driving.
