I waited a year for my car . The process was exhausting and stressful. In the meantime a friend of mine walked into his local dealership and they had a 2021 CPO Turbo S with 2K miles . Of course they wanted a gazillion for it but he took them to task , paid an ADM , but it was not outrageous . He walked out with an amazing almost new car with no wait time .

I ponder this. Would I do it again or would I do what he did ? I am 90 percent at where he is at . Now its true that I wanted a GTS (Not a Turbo S) and he didnt get his first choice color and such but still I compare it to the compromises I made with time and mental energy and still find him way in the lead !!!

So I ask you .. those who have it . those who are still waiting , and those who are perhaps lurking wondering as I write this .

I'm no expert but I was told that they "install multiple, difficult to locate tracking devices throughout a vehicle."

I have it on the Macan and I don't even know where the tags are? Gues they can be located and removed? ANYTHING is possible you know! Anyways, hope I never need to use it.
The guys who tried to steal my car were well dressed in broad daylight . They walked onto a guarded parking lot . One even waved at the guard . I just happened to be walking to my car because I had forgotten something at home . It was 10 AM that day. From a distance I thought it was a kid . When I got closer it wasn't . He was a 25 year old but I was 35 back then and in shape too . It scared the crap out of him and he ran from my car into a getaway car . I was standing right in front of that getaway car . They almost ran me over . They had no tags at all on it .

My point is that Porsche theft usually is a pro . I think they will find your hidden tags in a dumpster somewhere . Besides if you get the car back its likely damaged, stripped or destroyed.

That’s crazy!

Got it! And you're absolutely right. But the tracking system is FREE...and I think that my insurance likes it and takes it into consideration when calculating the premium. I think!

NOW I understand! If it's stollen, WE DON'T want to find it!!! ;) And you're absolutely right. 😅

That said, I think that some insurance compagnies, in Canada at least, require some kind of tracking device. Not sure...

Maybe like this one I saw over the weekend while I was out on my bike!
Looks like a manual! SOLD! :ROFLMAO:

I'm still trying to understand the "picture"? It's on wheels, seems to have some sort of joystick...and has it's own parking spot!!!! Did you wait to see who got in that chair? Maybe he rides with those bikers in the background?! 😂
I just hope I get my 911 with all it's "parts". Friends and colleagues are getting their cars (BMW, MB, GM) delivered "unfinished", with no touchscreen, head-up display, heated seats or heated steering wheel, etc. I don't really care about any of those options (except the heated seats and steering wheel in november🥶). BMW has stopped completely offering some options that can't even be retrofitted when the chips are finally available.

And I read somewhere that "General Motors is currently stockpiling tens of thousands of unfinished vehicles as the semiconductor chips trickle in, including pickups, SUVs, and vans. The vehicles are currently being stored at the automaker’s facilities in Mexico, Texas, Missouri, Indiana, and Illinois".

Happy that Bobby and Larry got a completely and perfectly "finished" 911! I cross my fingers for mine.🤞

Larry, what do you hear on other Forums. What's the situation with Porsche? Lots of "unfinished" cars being delivered? 911s? 😱

If the part is essential the car is held at the port but the small issue has been the electric steering column . Cars came with a manual and a voucher . it would not matter to me . Most older Porsches only came with a manual column . I'd set it once and be done . Most were ok with it . One person who had physical limitations was not .

I was there with my knucklehead biker outlaw friends and I still don’t understand the “chair” ride. No, didn’t see the person walk in but I would have had a few questions!

Well, I started to ride at 16 because car insurance was outrageous 3k a year! Had a Yamaha RD250 and rode 12 months out of the year. Rain, snow etc. I’m now 56 and ride for pleasure….thank God! I paid my dues!

My bike insurance at that time was 41 dollars a year!

I bought a 2021 911 Turbo S Cab in October because I didn't want to wait the timeframe they were giving me to get a new one. It only had 1,000 miles on it and has all the options. It was practically brand new when I bought it. Unfortunately, I did have to pay $40K over MSRP for it. That's the price I had to pay to have something now. I'm on the list now to order a 2023 911 Turbo S. I'm loving my car and I'm so happy I bought it. It's my first Porsche and I love it. Now, I have an awesome car while I'm waiting for my next one. I probably won't get the next one until the end of the year. It may be even longer with everything that's going on. Who knows? I'm really enjoying what I have at this time. I would've regretted waiting and not having something like it in the mean time. Tomorrow isn't guaranteed and life is too short; live today.

Many great points about life and instant gratification for sure. Also, if you get the new 911 in a reasonable time you might be ok with the premium you paid. Also, that’s a heck of a first Porsche…..enjoy!

Nothing like new and getting everything you ordered. I would hate to be stuck with a sacrifice car just my thoughts. My 2022 Targa 4S was ordered in April 21 came in port August 21 after a four week wait I took delivery in September. I was lucky to get the allocation however, I would not have chosen a lot car in lieu of it just my personal preference. Now the downside and gentleman take note LOL I still have not told my wife about the car and she is stuck over in storage for the occasional; drive my birthday is coming up in a month it will be a surprise gift to myself if you know what I mean! Before you go off on me she has received lots of nice I feel guilty gifts since September! :)

My turbo s cab took about a year from commitment to acquisition.
it was worth the wait.
The roller coaster ride and anticipation was sorta fun for me.
This is my first Porsche.
If I knew then what I know now about how it drives, I would have been more impatient.
Sent it straight to PPF without driving it too.
Now I’m sunburned with a giant grin plasters on my face.
No one could pry the wheel from my hands now!
We did see Turbo cabs and Turbo S cabs but they all had something that was….someone else’s idea.
Glad too that there was no ADM.
