Hello! I just found out my 2023 GTS is on the move, and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ve probably configured 10,000 vehicles online over the years and never met one in person.

Welcome (officially) @99Blue and thanks for sharing your build. It’s a great one! I thought your user name could be a hint for your choice of color and that you would join me in the very small Gentian Blue « club »! 😉

Like GB, Aventurine green is one of those chameleon colors. Very original. Perfect color combo with the interior. Good job!

But more importantly is your choice of the GTS over the S that will please a few members, one in particular. 😅 I will let him and others comment on the specifics (PDCC, RAS, etc.). But you have ALL the bells and whistles! Lucky guy.

A few members just received their 992 last week. After a « miserable » couple of years, what a pleasure to see those 992s finally arrive at destination. Did you wait long between order, allocation and build date?

Congrats again and keep us posted on the ETA.

P.S. Do you have your clear side markers in hand? Sorry, inside joke. 🤪

Ha, sorry to let you down- Blue is my name. I almost backed off the Aventurine Green after seeing how many my dealership had already sold… but I just couldn’t avoid it. I love it.

I would also love to hear the opinions of GTS vs S. I traded a 997 turbo and GT350 for this- combining both weekend porsche and Track Day Ford into one. I’m hoping the larger brakes and stiffer suspension will pay off on track and went with an aluminum roof to save a bit of weight up top.

My wait was definitely not 2 years but it has felt excruciating all the same. My dealer wanted the 997 and offered me an allocation at sticker if we could agree on trade in value. It was back in June and prices were very high for both the turbo and gt350 and I feel really good about the move- but I’ve missed a lot of track days waiting with an empty garage. (Hence the 718 spyder I’m basically renting for track days).
Beautiful.

Thanks. You are very sane, and succinct.

Oh yes, clear markers coming… those front black mesh grills for in front of the intercoolers… the APR plus tune… PPF… I’m up for recommendations…

Sounds like you would get along with @yrralis1 although he’s keeping his 997 Turbo for now. Don’t thing he’ll ever let it go.

Your wait is almost over. « Up North » (Montreal), « Winter is coming » and the time to ride any 911 is coming to an end. At least for me. So it’s another month or so before saying goodbye! 😕 I think the guys will have to pry it from my fingers with a crowbar!

Winter is coming here too… I’ve never had to deal with center lock wheels before hope it’s not a pain to have someone through snow tires on it. I don’t think I can wait until spring…
Blue, sweet spec for sure and you checked all the boxes for a driver and track. Start the countdown clock!

Totally agree.
I did not you can have carbon or aluminum roof.

If I’m not mistaken, Larry also chose the carbon fiber roof along with the light weight package. TBC

Yeah the carbon option is ideal- and gorgeous- but it’s $4,000 and saves 4lbs over the aluminum option. I was pretty maxed out and just couldn’t do it.

Got it.

Beautiful car !! Congrats !! I have seen Aventurine in the wild and its really nice . There are tons of pics of it with truffle . Its. great combination and a good move making the calipers black. You are right that its only 4 pounds but the location is the center of mass . I do worry about the sun hitting it and with steel you are safe !! he only compromise I made was not getting the buckets in my daily . I figure 5 years from now I hope to be looking at 70 and ingress/egress may get harder . If on the boat its about a month away . It feels like forever though . Hang in there. and once again congrats .

Thanks! So excited! I checked that carbon roof box in every single build except the final one. When I learned it was aluminum with a sun roof delete I just let it go. I keep checking the boat location like it will speed it up!

Are you saying you go on the dealer's list for an allocation in June or that's when you got an allocation? I have been on my dealer's list since May and still no allocation.
I got the allocation in June. The dealer doesn’t know what allocations are coming when so the list is impossible to predict time wise.
