Ladies, the title says it all! For those of you who have ceramic coating don’t forget to boost it once a month. It’s easy for me to remember because that’s when my pension payment is due! Cheers!

Tell me more. I have Modesta ceramic installed last October. I'm under the impression an annual refresh is needed and my to do list has finding out what's required. Monthly? Do you just wipe it down with some kind of tune up juice or Woodford? Interested in learning more.

ps. Mine has yet to see soap of any kind. I just rinse it off with hose and most bugs come right off. I just take a clean wet rag to the stubborn ones. Final touch is a blow dry.

God forbid using Woodford! So my coating is OptiCoat. The yellow bottle can be used daily and the blue bottle is a monthly wax or boost. I was told it hardens the ceramic coating. You may not need a monthly boost at all just the yearly not sure. You might want to ask the person or Google it. Like I said maybe mine is overkill not sure. Maybe I spoke too soon!

I was just thinking about ceramic coating today...(as i'm still 3 months away from delivery i have to keep my mind pre-occupied). I know i can search the forum but would you do the ceramic coating again? Was it worth it? My guy is quoting $1300.

@BobbyG i see in previous posts you were on the fence in getting it. So i guess i'm asking for your 1 year review please!

I am very pleased and would definitely do again. In addition to a deep, sparkling shine, washing the car is a breeze and no need to wax. After ceramic, I just hose the car off and 90+ % of bugs/dirt just washes away. The remainder are easily removed with a clean, wet rag. Also had wheels and calipers done and same result with brake dust-most rinses off and any remainder is easily removed with wet rag. Happy camper here…

Absolutely! It makes cleaning a breeze. This is the first car I did it with and as nice as this car is I’m glad I did.

Yes for ceramic coating but with a warning regarding the "quality" of the product. I was told after the fact by my detailing guy that the dealer had used a cheaper product. Price is a good indication (you usually get what you pay for) but the detailer's reputation and your trust in him is the most important. Don't know your dealer but I would go with third party.

The ceramic, like you will see in the video is like a permanent wax

Very true Chas, My dealer ordered to do it. It was a new feature they were setting up. They were totally upfront and honest and stated they only worked on a handful of cars. I politely declined and used a local shop they currently used. Buyer beware!

I have had the same guy doing my car for over 15 years . He was the best even then and has only gotten better . He has clients with collections of cars . He even knows how to do restoration of classics and boats . People from other countries have even flown him in to do their collection for a few days . I know that even when I had my car back to the dealership it sometimes even looks better than the day I took delivery . I bring it to him before I get my final trade in number .

Ask around and check reputation online. My shop had YouTube instructional and application videos. He also had “open house” Saturdays to explain the products and how they work. Good luck in your search!

I asked for recommendations from members of our local Porsche Club of America chapter. Don’t know if you have anything similar in Canada. Other $$ cars/clubs may also have experience and recommendations. You could also go to ceramic product manufacturers websites and look for installers. Lots of stuff on you tube. Good luck!

I knew my guy was the one because of word of mouth. It wasn’t just Porsche owners. His name came up in other circles as well. When I met him, I saw a collection of cars that he had maintained. One was more spotless than the other in the vaulted ceiling penthouse garage, the size of a football field. I instantly knew I was in for a real treat. When I handed him the key to my car . this was even before ceramic was invented in my car was a 2007 and I found him in 2008. I left him my car at that garage and two days later I came back and it looked like this. With ceramic in the newer products, he has improved even more . I was instantly hooked.

Nine years later, when ceramic became available, I left him with my car. He had maintained it all the time, but he convinced me that ceramic and a paint correction would be the key to making this car look better than it ever did. When I drove up to pick up my car, this is what I found as he was finishing. that is not a metallic black at the time. The car was 14 years old. It’s now 16 years old.

When I drove it out of the garage that day, it was just incredible. It looked better than new . With flat black ceramic just throws the paint off in a shine until of course it gets dust . Most of the black cars that you see are metallic my former Macan for instance, was metallic black, and couldn’t match that same type of glistening perfection.

Sorry for hogging the thread with all these pictures. I took the last one down because other people want to post theirs. I think I just miss the black car and can’t wait till I get it back. I started looking at pictures of it and I realize how important it has been in my life all these years. The detailing was just one of many great experiences with this car. I hope each person gets to have that within 992. Thus far I have been absolutely loving mine.

My father had a six series BMW convertible with a red interior that was simply stunning. He had just turned 84 and I was the one who test drove it for him. He was grinning ear to ear, and said let’s go back to the dealership and see if he takes cash. It was one of those special memories between father and son I’ll never forget. When that car was clean, it was unbelievable! Fantastic memory and I don’t think he ever drove it past 40 miles an hour! Anywhere we went he asked me to drive that’s where I used to cut it loose.
