Hello all, this is my first post. I'm out of Northern Virginia. a 15-year Porsche owner (base Cayman in 2008, 718 Boxster S in 2017, wife drives a Macan) and member of PCA. I run our "drive and dine" touring group in Potomac Region, so I do spend a lot of time on the scenic mountain and hill roads of VA, MD, PA and WV. Once in a while we make it to the beach or the lighthouses of southern Maryland too,

As of last night, after about a 1 month wait, I received an allocation for a Carrera T, my first 911 (and a manual to boot) which is scheduled for production in the June-July period. I was advised it will be a "2024" model, so I'm wondering if the 992.2 upgrades are actually going to be classified as 2025, since there haven't been any unveilings of the .2's, which would have likely happened already, as opposed to the snowy preview pictures with disguises tacked onto the cars.

Still trying to get my arms around the fairly limited color options. (I have a feeling anything not black, white, silver, guards red or racing yellow will eventually become an $11,000 paint-to-sample.) It is definitely s crapshoot on what colors may be "in" or "out" for 2024 beyond the basic 4. Plus will Bose be available? Will there be interior options besides basic black checked Sport-Tex, gray stitching / pinstripes or green stitching / pinstripes? I have done a couple configs (OK more than a couple configs). Two of them have stripes (and all have door decal-delete) just so they pop a little more. I welcome your thoughts / any intelligence on what a "2024" model will be. Thanks all!

Seems like June/July build would be unusually early for next year model designation. Wonder if whoever advised you it would be MY24 could be mistaken?

NoVa vet here, grew up near Mount Vernon and over the years lived in Burke, Clifton and Centreville. Nice area but waaaaaaaay too crowded for me.

Welcome and congratulations !!!
Your first hurdle and probably the hardest, getting an allocation, has been achieved.
I'm on my second 911, both 992's, and finalizing the configuration of each one was a labor of love.
I like bold colors so my first 911 was a Python Green coupe. My current 911 is a Shark Blue cabriolet.
For a while I considered Gentian Blue but decide it was too conventional.
The great thing about the 911 is it looks fantastic whatever color.
Your final design should be what you want and guaranteed it will be worth the wait !!!!!!

Of the 4 colors it would be blue or chalk . No stripe .

Welcome and congrats @havinoviski ! Getting an allocation after ONE (1) month must be a new record. So happy for you.

You never know what Porsche will do but I don’t expect them to radically rethink the new 2023 992 T …in 2024. With the 991, the T was a two-year model. So, your assumption is right. I think that could be a hint that the 992.2 upgrades will be classified as 2025. Maybe, just maybe, all those rumored upgrades (NA, Hybrid, etc) will wait 'til the end of the .2 cycle. The mid-cycle refresh could just be small changes and little tweaks. Hmm.

I salute your choice of a manual. May I suggest the gorgeous Gentian Blue color! Not a fan of stripes but it does look good on GB.

Cheers! 🥂

Gotta ask, how much did chalk rev your engine when you were a kid sitting in school? For me less than zero, just like this option esp at $3200
The OP gave four choices. Red and yellow are out leaving chalk and gentian and I would pick chalk over gentian. GT, silver and white would be my first choice colors but they were not on his list.

I do like chalk, but I’m not in love with it I have a chalk macan GTS. I just got it too. I picked the color because I ran out of choices.White was my first. Silver was my second. Three jet black in a row followed. I wanted to try something new and different. It’s a nice color but was not ever my first choice.

Another Gentian fan here! Beautiful in both direct sun and at dusk.

Having said that, colour is very subjective and your opinion is the only one that matters. They really do look good in any colour.

Do you have a preferred interior or wheel colour? That might help narrow it down.

Welcome Hav! Of the options you present I think I would choose Gentian followed by chalk. There you go, it goes to prove everyone has a different opinion. Having said that mine is coming in GT Silver so what do I know?!

H, Welcome and congrats on the allocation…that’s a big step. With the cars you’ve already had its a natural progression and you will love the 992 especially the manual. Shifts like butter and so much fun. No intel on future options but I always choose colors based on resale/trade just in case I need to for any reason. It’s only happened a few times but worked out fine. No yellow for me not sure about blue. I would entertain red with the right wheels but chose GT Silver metallic (Previous 981 Boxster Agate Gray) because its classic Porsche and I think the lines of the car look better in this color. It’s a tough decision so good luck!

Scott, regarding the $3200. The color is a quality paint. It’s a flat color yet seems to be more durable than the free ones. It also goes very well with black .
I'm not a fan of any flat painted cars, it's a fad that won't be around forever (fingers crossed) and I hope manufacturers realize that sooner vs. later. Flat orange, grey, black, silver, khaki and others ad nauseum remind me of someone who has painted their car with a spray can ("primer grey"). Sorry but color being so subjective those are my viewpoints. No offense intended.

I like both metallic and flat paint. That one of my favorite colors is simple flat white. It’s cool in the sun. It’s easy to match. It looks great at night. It’s timeless plus it’s free.

Chalk has an old 356 feel about it which is kind of cool, I have a friend with a 1953 pre-A in something close to that color, though I use that term loosely. In actuality, it's my wife's favorite (she wants it on her next Macan and I'm trying to talk her out of it). The main reason for a red stripe on chalk (or on GT Silver) is to provide color when none exists, though my current Boxster S is GT silver, with black top and black/red seats.
