Another Gentian fan here! Beautiful in both direct sun and at dusk.

Having said that, colour is very subjective and your opinion is the only one that matters. They really do look good in any colour.

Do you have a preferred interior or wheel colour? That might help narrow it down.
Well the interiors are any color you want as long as it's black. Beyond the standard grey-black checked Sport-Tex (which is pretty plain but you can get colored seat belts), there are two levels of T interior. The first ($2400) adds either grey stitching to the seat and grey pinstripes to the cloth insert plus grey seat belts, or lizard green stitching and pinstripes with matching green seat belts. Not sure how that works with red or blue but I'm sure someone's going to try it. The $6000+ level level T interior adds dash, door and console-side kick panel stitching either in grey or lizard. There's a cheaper one that adds gray stitching but keeps the basic checked Sport-Tex. Either way, lots of money to pay for stitching on a black interior. Rear axle steer costs just over $2000 and seems a better use of funds than the first-level T interior.

I would think Gentian exterior with green lizard stitching would be pretty sharp as blue and green generally compliment one another. I think the green stitching over black seats pops pretty well especially with the seat belts and if you add a green tach and/or chrono to compliment it but of course will have to see in real person. Guess I will soon!

Too much risk imo . I know for sure silver, white, black, or go with lizard green. You start playing around with combinations and they’ve got 130 grand worth of second thoughts.

It’s not so much about resale. It’s about being able to look at your car and say blah. I have seen many people take a chance of what they thought was a creative idea gone wrong.
Makes sense, this 992 was the first car I built but bought a lot of cars thinking “nothing too crazy” in case I need to trade it etc.

I never thought one single second about resale and don’t regret it. Unless you go crazy and get a Ronald McDonald or Superman combo, your car will be worth just as much when you want to sell it.
After I saw some of the CRAZY color combos people have done in the past I was like oh my! I knew for the most part what I wanted going in.

If you and I thought of resale we wouldn’t have chosen a cabriolet or a manual transmission, both of which are way less popular. Automatic gearboxes and Coupes are more in demand. Porsche says less than ten in every hundred sold will be a manual.

Also, I never would’ve chosen the light color leather interior that I love. And I would have added lots of stuff I didn’t want like SPASM! And the color would have been…silver, white or black! 🤪

I love blue and don’t care about resale value. Same with any other option.

I hear you but there is always someone who wants a manual! Rare find these days. There’s a reason why Porsche buys them in select cars…increased price and value.

Yup! I was just trying to defend @Als992 suggestion of lizard green stitching with gentian blue. He didn’t spec it (scaredy cat 😉) but I think it could be cool! You did give his post a thumbs up! IMO not that crazy and definitely not a resale value issue. Where’s that configurator pic again? 🙄

One SA told me that a car has to have have black interior, sunroof, pdk, etc for resale.

Another SA said a more unique car (eg MT, distinct colours) might take longer to sell but the buyer that wants those options will be willing to pay more when he finds it.

An interesting comment from the Porsche video @CH61 shared was that 40,000 cars were built before 2 were built with identical options.

I think you quoted me but meant to quote Bobby . I wasn't discussing resale as a reason not to go gentian and lizard . I think its nice to look at ones car and feel pleased with the outcome . Taking a risk on colors can either become a great move or a an eyesore .

Heres a modest but nicely equipped build in gentian . 911 Carrera T | Porsche Car Configurator

Risky colors are trendy so “let the builder beware!”

My bad about the quote. Your build is beautiful Larry. But someone could like lizard green stitching with gentian blue. Who are we to say otherwise. Just preference.

The racing yellow with red « everything » is another story. LOL!
