Moving from mid-engine to a Carrera T

Hello all, this is my first post. I'm out of Northern Virginia. a 15-year Porsche owner (base Cayman in 2008, 718 Boxster S in 2017, wife drives a Macan) and member of PCA. I run our "drive and dine" touring group in Potomac Region, so I do spend a lot of time on the scenic mountain and hill roads of VA, MD, PA and WV. Once in a while we make it to the beach or the lighthouses of southern Maryland too,

As of last night, after about a 1 month wait, I received an allocation for a Carrera T, my first 911 (and a manual to boot) which is scheduled for production in the June-July period. I was advised it will be a "2024" model, so I'm wondering if the 992.2 upgrades are actually going to be classified as 2025, since there haven't been any unveilings of the .2's, which would have likely happened already, as opposed to the snowy preview pictures with disguises tacked onto the cars.

Still trying to get my arms around the fairly limited color options. (I have a feeling anything not black, white, silver, guards red or racing yellow will eventually become an $11,000 paint-to-sample.) It is definitely s crapshoot on what colors may be "in" or "out" for 2024 beyond the basic 4. Plus will Bose be available? Will there be interior options besides basic black checked Sport-Tex, gray stitching / pinstripes or green stitching / pinstripes? I have done a couple configs (OK more than a couple configs). Two of them have stripes (and all have door decal-delete) just so they pop a little more. I welcome your thoughts / any intelligence on what a "2024" model will be. Thanks all!

I would get a yellow 911 !!!

Here is my vinyl wrapped BMW - as you can see it was black.

Plus you can easily see yellow accentuates the cars lines more than a dark color.

My current 911 is Shark Blue - I had considered Gentian but I thought after a couple of years it’s one of those colors that looks “tired” and is like any other Porsche.

Yellow is a “happy” color !!!!

Just as a matter of reference, 6 out our last 8 cars the last 25 years have been black, silver, or white. The exceptions were a fairly muted blue metallic Volvo S40 (wifemobile) and my first Porsche (a Cayman in Ruby Red metallic, which 2 years later became a premium color and basically no equivalent color in the Pcar lineup has existed for about 6-7 years, not even in PTS). Yellow would be drastic - and it is interesting that literaily the only place I ever see yellow cars in the DC area (or anything not black, white, silver, muted blue or grey) is the occasional Cars and Coffee, and usually they are Corvettes and on occasion a 991 S. Even reds are pretty rare, though at a typical club event, there will be at least 3-4 Guards Red and Carmine Red Caymans and a few 991s. I guess everyone hibernates their cars these days. Even tuner cars are muted colors (or black/grey satin wraps) around here.
Life is short. It's a Sports car and not a minivan. If you like the color and you're fine with the attention it will bring (see pic 😝) go for it. Just keep the rest subtle and don’t option it with the red interior 😉

You never disappoint Prince!
GB is a great color. As we discovered, the black trim does get hidden with GB. Several other colors compliment a black trim other than yellow. Yellow is a great color for a bold and exciting affair. But do you want yellow for a long term commitment? If there is a break up, it could be costly. Keep the Faith!!

Interesting, and equally interesting how Porsche seems to consistently outperform what the published hp would suggest.
I’m glad you chose the blue. Racing yellow was the promo color of the 991T. It’s one of those colors that is very polarizing. You get that rare person that loves it, but the majority could not deal with it on a daily basis. I know that if I got a yellow car, it would initially have its wow only to gradually become “oh no, I am walking to my yellow car“. Those are the thoughts in my head where the color would erode emotionally.

The only 992 I've ever seen in yellow (other than on Instagram, usually posted by the ParadiseRegionGruppe which is a non-PCA Porsche club on the Gulf Coast of FL) is the promo version of the T that Doug DeMuro and one or two others reviewed when they had their big Angeles Crest Hwy press event out in CA. I have only seen a handful of 991s in person in yellow (one a targa and the other a cabriolet). So part of me wants to do it (maybe add a black stripe to it) and part of me loves the subtlety of the blue. Everyone says my wife is a colorful dresser which would explain why she wants the yellow - though she would prefer chalk on her next Macan, ironically enough.

When I bought my car I went over every color in detail . I wanted to keep an open mind . I even went as far as building cars in each. What I found was that if I knew I would want to bail out the car ended up cheaper . Other colors that I might like but think I might not priced in the middle . At the end it care down to two identical builds (only color changed ) and Gt won for me .

In the thread there was only one yellow car that caught my eye . First I liked how the woman optioned it . Notice that she did not do the typical things a guy does by overkill . What I mean is a yellow car with yellow belts and stitching is overkill . She chose just a black solid interior but did choose PCCB . The red on an S would look like Ronald McDonald . She also dressed to match the car . I have no idea what language she is speaking BTW .

She does perfectly match the car with her coordinated dress and footwear (who cares about the language). 😝

But what happens when she wears that red dress?! 😱

But would a woman wearing blue be more classy? Where's that color chart?

She has other videos, and she always dresses nicely.

How about a 90 old Dad perfectly coordinated with the 992! 🤪 If I sit my Mom, no way she comes out. 😉

The two of you could make a great YouTube video.
By the way, I hope the OP continues to stay with gentian blue. A pretty lady driving a yellow car ought not influence his decision. For what it’s worth I did like the way she option the car. The solid interior with the focus on yellow. On the exterior was sufficient to call the attention to the yellow. That said, I did not buy a yellow car.
