New Configurator Out

Looks like price increases in Canada. I knew Porsche was talking about raising prices in the summer....this is a bit early.

Price of a T went up around $10K, Freight up $1100, which all adds to the base calculation of the Luxury Tax here in Canada (+20%).

They did add the carbon bucket seats and Bose system to the available options, so I guess that's nice.

I have an allocation for a T with an April lock date - wondering if I get the new pricing or the pricing when I submitted by build to the dealer or am the beneficiary of the price increase.

Receiving an allocation is a dedicated build slot, vs being on an open ended waiting list.

Build date is not confirmed in the system yet.
October to September is a big gap!

I’m used to seeing 3-4 months from receiving my allocation to picking up my car at the dealership in western Canada (22 Macan GTS and 23 Carrera S).

Edit afterthought..Porsche communication is abysmal so I’m not surprised they dropped the ball on contacting you. My experience on customer support - my Macan arrived unannounced missing the electric steering column. I was finally told 5 mths later that I’d get compensation. 9 mths later and I’m still waiting. If I owed them a penny I’m sure the response would be different.

Dont forget this was a new model, so allocations were given out long before prosecution started - also they produce a lot more Macans than 911s
Honestly fellas…$10K should not matter financially because most, if not all, newer 911 owners are financially capable. Yes $10K is $10K, I respect that, but I am sure you know what I am trying to say here. However the removal of options is unacceptable!
For me, it's not as much the cost of purchase but the 3-5 year cost to own and with a 992 that amount could just be the same with or without that 10K hike.

Those 500 dollar oil changes are brutal!

Yup! But my point was 180K - 140K or 190K - 150K. The cost to own the car is the same despite the 10K purchase difference.

Time will tell but my feeling is that our 992s will keep their value and not depreciate too fast 🤞

I’m optimistic about that also.

I took delivery of my 23 GT3 T last month. This started as a 22 then got pushed to a 23 with the raised pricing effective June 22. I wasn’t happy but I guess I should not complain now as they raised the price on my 23 again. The 23s were Now its up another $12K here in US From last June.

Oh man but congrats MF! We need a few pics of that bad boy!
Not surprised or concerned with price increase, in fact it will be good for current owners. I think it's a classic case of supply and demand. Porsche can sell all the 911's they can build and there is a waiting list to get one. Dealers get away with ADM and flippers are successful-hoping price increase reverses that trend somewhat.
They jacked the Boxsters and Caymans up by an even higher percentage. And those right now are nearly impossible to come by, interestingly enough, long waitlists like all the other non-Macans. I have a 2017 Boxster S, so the saving grace is I can probably eke a little more out when I sell it.

Literally only Porsche can get away with this, without actually providing any value or return for the additional cost (in fact fewer colors available than before), and actually do it in the name of shareholder value? Imagine GM raising prices on Chevy Equinox by even $5000??

I don’t like this situation one bit.

$500 for an oil change would be a blessing here in NoVA. Dealer here charge $680. Best to get the maintenance plan so you can actually have the 40,000 mile maintenance (which is well into the 4 digits) included.

Especially if you have a manual transmission. That's the only reason I only slightly flinched when I received my build date today (June - so 2024 pricing). I'm still trying to figure out if the $2000 PEC ATL delivery (instead of $600) is worth it. I may also drop the ambient lighting from my build ($580) and maybe even move to guards red from Gentian Blue ($840). Between those three items, $3420 less. I might swap in Bose (assuming it is actually available, even if it's shown on the configurator, given the 718s now no longer have Bose available for 2024).

I’m doing the same thing as you and am reviewing my specification to see if I can cut some fat (and still be happy with the incoming car) to try and reduce the née delta a bit.
I talked with my sales guy today. It began when I left the pool and drive through an event with cones that sent my PCM berserk . In an effort to just clear the thing I wiped out all my favorites on my radio . What a nightmare . I did this so long ago that I forgot so I called him . After he helped me I mentioned the price hike . He expressed that the cost of materials went up for Porsche . I believe maybe 1K out of the 10K hike . There are two points here :

1) Porsche technology really sucks !
2) Even though Porsche makes a huge profit it does cost more for them to make than a year ago.
As someone commented earlier on this thread, Porsche going public is a contributing factor to those price hikes. Porsche is incredibly profitable and announced the "Road to 20" in their recent press conference (link below). On the upside, I'd hope ADM will go down or disappear with higher MSRPs. Porsche is essentially pocketing the profits that dealers reaped.

Key Excerpt:
Road to 20 makes Porsche more resilient and the brand even stronger
The Porsche team continues to set itself high targets for the future. In 2023, the company started its ambitious Road to 20 programme, with which Porsche is aiming for a Group operating return on sales of more than 20 per cent in the long term
The other aspect to consider for US sales is the $ has appreciated about 20% against the € over the past year to 18 months.

I know savvy global companies use currency hedging for this exact reason.

However, today $150,000 from the sale of a Porsche is about €140,000 - 18 months ago it was about €125,000

That currency margin on US gross sales is not going to the dealers.

And the dealers will keep marking them up because they can and Porsche looks the other way. I know one who will.
