New Configurator Out

Looks like price increases in Canada. I knew Porsche was talking about raising prices in the summer....this is a bit early.

Price of a T went up around $10K, Freight up $1100, which all adds to the base calculation of the Luxury Tax here in Canada (+20%).

They did add the carbon bucket seats and Bose system to the available options, so I guess that's nice.

I have an allocation for a T with an April lock date - wondering if I get the new pricing or the pricing when I submitted by build to the dealer or am the beneficiary of the price increase.

I went from one model year to another while i was waiting and got the new price. But once you have your allocation/lock date, I doubt that your price would change. Keep us posted.
Just received word that since my allocation is for a MY23 new pricing doesn't factor into my build. I would have liked to option the carbon bucket seats or Bose, but those seem to be MY24 only. Guess I'll use some of the "savings" to add a wine fridge to the garage!

I have been playing with the 992 build site incessently since the changes rolled out. It is interesting, if you look in the PTS section, Aventurine, Chalk and Gentain are all in the PTS colors library, but Gentain and Chalk are also still listed in teh standard colors section. Makes me wonder if those two are next to go and maybe Porsche will replace them with some decent color options. Aventurine was replaced with Artic Grey, which is a slightly darker version of chalk (non-metalic gray). I don't know why you need two non-metallic grays, but no greens, dark blues, etc.

Well, I am keeping my 991.1S manual that's fully loaded and pretty happy with that!

Sounds like a good plan.

Extortion! 2 or 3 percent increase is fine but 8-10 percent is greedy.
I am fortunate to not be hit with this huge increase for my C2 Cab. I believe Porsche is being opportunistic given the supply/demand imbalance. Can't really blame them, but they have to be careful not to be perceived as taking advantage of Porsche loyal enthusiasts.

I agree. It's called capitalism and I can't blame a company for trying to maximize their profits, however yes as you point out it's a balancing act between making money where they can and being perceived as too greedy.

I agree but hearing some paying 30K over MSRP sounds greedy.

I was referring to the price increase not the ADM and I agree about that 100%!
And the dealers will keep marking them up because they can and Porsche looks the other way. I know one who will.
And it depends on the model. GTS, GT3, RS models, Turbos, yep, dealer markup. Lesser ones, at least with my SA, it’s been strictly MSRP. Given I was waitlisted for only a month (Feb to Mar) on a 911 T and then got a June 22 build date, I’m guessing there was less demand, though probably enough to keep me from an April-May build date which would have yielded less revenue for the mother ship. That said, my configurator says there are four T models that have been sitting for days in the northeast (or may be “on the truck”), two of which are all black and under $130k, and two others that are highly loaded (one GT Silver and one shark blue) and are $136k-$140k (based on the old pricing). One of ‘em is a PDK though.
Just FYI, if you revisit the configurator today, some graphical issues. The Carrera T shows up as a base model (19/20 base wheel combination) with PDK, regardless of what wheels or transmission you order, and with the base seats instead of the Sport-tex Sport-plus seats, regardless of what you ordered. It seems they're running beta versions of this thing almost continuously.
Porsche just released their profit results and the CFO made a comment about raising prices again in the second half. Do we think this is the already announced 2024 model year price raises or they're going to go up again on that?

Hope not.

My thoughts are that this is the same increase that they released at the end of March. 2 price increases in a single MY, before its even released, seems odd as not a lot has changed in the economy in the past 2 months. However I've been wrong before and I'll be wrong again.

Either way, glad I squeaked in on a MY23 build - scheduled for production in a week (y)

There were some who rationalized the ADM they paid in 2022 as the future price increases to have the car then. Rather than give it to Porsche they gave it to the dealership . I argued them at that time but I see now they speculated correctly . I am still glad I got mine at MSRP when I did.

At least those of us with cars are "locked in". Theoretically that will mean our lightly used pre-owned models will be worth even more accordingly. Simple supply and demand and what the consumer is willing to pay. Sounds like Porsche AG would prefer to keep the extra revenue rather than letting the dealer do that in their ADM's.

They will be worth more if we sell them ourselves privately. Dealerships are rather aggressive on trade numbers . I don't know if I trust a stranger test driving my 173K car and even with less expensive cars a lot of people say " when you sell it I want to buy it" and begin stuttering when they actually can . I have even posted links to my former cars which I traded impeccable and even on a forum no one bought it . Even with the lower trade I get the tax credit of 7 percent in Fl. Thats significant on a 100+K car which means a used buyer has to clear a huge price hurdle and not get a CPO . In short the dealership always wins .

Over the years i have sold several cars privately and put it through the dealer to save the tax but nowadays dealers are less willing to do this and/or will have a service charge to do so. For the most part rarely worth the hassle anymore. They key is to get a reasonable trade-in value from your dealer to make it worthwhile. Theoretically with the price increases on new all pre-owned whether private or trade-in value should adjust accordingly. But i do agree that the dealer always wins!
