I came upon this site last year when I was checking out the 992. Ordered late 2019 and car arrived April 2020- just as Covid 19 was in full swing. Not sure why it took me so long to join but...
Not sure what everyone wants to hear. Ordered base model as I'm somewhat leery of technology- Also tried to keep options to a minimum. Guards Red. Sport exhaust, sport chrono, 14 way seats, Bose.
Dealer delivered on a covered flatbed due to lockdown. Zero issues. Very happy

Welcome @JohnH. Congrats!
What other vehicles were you considering before deciding to go with the 992? Also what options did you spec it with?

Thanks. I didn't really consider anything else. To explain, the 911 was introduced and became popular in North America when I was in my pre-teen to teen years- the years I consider to be an individuals automotive formative years. The 911 has been my favourite since then- along with various Ferrari models. But most Ferraris are either not practical or affordable. So after I retired my wife and I decided we didn't need a full sized car but we did need a back seat for our small dog. The other 4 seaters didn't really measure up to my idea of a everyday sports car. I had been looking at the 991 generation but when the 992 hit the market I was sold.
Options- the list I included in my original post covered most of the options. I'm a believer in the "keep it simple" philosophy. Rear wheel steer, for example, seems like one more thing to go wrong eventually. S- 440 ish HP would be nice but 380 ish in the base model certainly is adequate. 4 wheel drive- probably better on the track but most of my driving will be highway/city and I've always preferred rear wheel drive, year round.
