I guess its some sort of plastic but I think the scratches would eventually come back again with a polishing compound. Never tried anything Personally.

Never tried anything Personally.I’m starting to notice some very fine superficial scratches on those black polished inserts on the center console. What are people using to buff them out? I don’t want to create any swirl marks when I try to polish them out. Any suggestions?
I'd guess once you have scratches, you have scratches. Thankfully I don't think I'll have to worry about that as my inlays will be in exterior color GTS. I've seen these replacements elsewhere and you may consider in either CF or leather.I’m starting to notice some very fine superficial scratches on those black polished inserts on the center console.
