Pulling the Trigger!

Good morning! After some great input from some of you, and changes made to the configuration, I am heading to the dealer this weekend to order my 992. Since I've never ordered a vehicle before, are there any tips or tricks to know when talking with the dealership?

Thanks!

Good job @RugbyRef! I know we don't have any wiggling room right now but I understand that a dealers "best price" (at least it used to be) would often depend on whether you finance the car with Porsche or not. If you're financing it yourself (cash or otherwise) maybe keep that info after you get your best price. But it probably won't change anything these days.

Also, try to keep all the "extras" to a minimum. You probably don't need them (tire and wheel insurance, extended warraty, etc.) or can get them from a third party at a better price and quality (PPF, ceramic, etc.).

Good luck and make sure you have fun!

1) Make the deposit , get a receipt and a buyers order.
2) After its input ask for the salesman's initial copy gf the "Porsche vehicle sales and management " internal (estimated) calendar . It should have a commission number , your name. salesman name . dealership name , estimated freeze date , and arrival date .
3) wait for your track your dream e mail ti sign up . In the meantime register to my Porsche .
4) If track your dream e mail does not arrive in three weeks call PCNA with the commission number .
5) Just sit back and wait .
6) periodically check with salesman if his systems matches your track / dream app.
7) Just wait .

On there day of delivery they might try to sell you stuff (wheel and tire . pre paid maintenance , PPF, Ceramic) . Decline all of it . Find a professional detailer who does PPF and ceramic .

Payment ..
If you have a trade in best to early trade . .
They may ask you to finance with them . I am a cash buyer . I never met finance manager until that day and salesman lowered his head . His tactic was a guilt trip " if you finance with us we get more allocations for guys like you still waiting " followed by " you can pay it off immediately " . I replied "cash is king and I am paying immediately . I am paying in full today . "

Thanks guys! I also only do cash deals. In addition, I decline all the "extras" whenever buying a new car. This is very helpful!

All great advice but ALWAYS ask is this my price. I spent a career in sales and you never get what you DON’T ask for so ask for something. I got 6% off in Pa…..best of luck!

6% off?! Amazing.
6% off?! Amazing.
I also had a SOLID relationship with all of the staff so I think they expected me to close them hard!
