Service flap open

I recently suffered a dead battery in my 2020 911scab. After charging (at the dealership service department) the “service flap open” warning light comes on when the vehicle is initially started. If I open and close the flap the light goes off. The dealership hasn’t a clue but declined to reach out to Porsche. I suspect it’s an electronic or software reset issue but solicit any insight or expertise. Dealership wants it back for a “deep dive”. I just want to drive!

So what did they fix?
My issue was the brake light on the spoiler would not work due to a wire being pinched in the harness. Replaced it, about 3 feet long and no issues now.
Wiring harness is in and working fine no faults. Got nervous when “service flap open” lit up when I was leaving but it was actually not closed all the way per the tech…he apologized.
Lol. I bet you weren't happy when the light came on. Glad you got it fixed and hope you had a nice free lunch.

Thats what I’m talking about! I don’t get that stressed at the small stuff these days.

@BobbyG great news they fixed it. I also wouldn't be stressed if my car was under warranty. lol

Updating... today I took the car to the dealer. They will charge me around USD400 just to do the diagnosis. I hope they find the problem quickly and don't want to charge me more than we agreed. Let's see what they say.

Good luck!
Hey guys,

The dealer has diagnosed a problem with the service flap sensor. They specified the part as "SENSOR HALL".

This specific issue was not detected on their diagnostic device (via OBD?). They used a multimeter to measure the electrical pulses from the sensor that showed an abnormal variation.

I asked them for the part number, but they said they couldn't give it to me due to contractual issues. 🤔

They will replace two sensors, and the parts will take 30 days to arrive from Germany. The cost of parts is approx. USD700.

I'll let you know when I have news.
