Got those pics from my SA earlier today. Right off the truck this morning. If all goes well with PDI, PPF, ceramic, etc. I should take possession this Friday! Soooo excited!

Wow, where have i been? Just catching up now! Congrats on finally getting it. She's a beauty. Can't wait to see more pics. I still don't even have a slot....will have to live vicariously for a few more months.

I haven't seen the car yet but those 2 tiny pics give a nice idea of the famous or should I say "infamous" Gentian Blue color. I love it! Will post more pics...with the slate grey/chalk interior. Another "gamble"! 😅 Yup! I like to live dangerously. The only thing I was sure about was the manual shifter (I know Larry, the GTS stick is better!).

I love the manual. You only get to pick one though and I already have one car that’s a manual. There have been times where all of my cars were manuals. At one time I had three manuals. I enjoyed watching the video on smoking tire where he reviewed the Gentian Cab in a manual. It looks like you’re going to have a blast driving the car. I’m still in shock that you finally got it. I remember the long period of time where you didn’t even know you were going to get a slot. Once you got it this was fast . Soon enough you’ll be driving and you’ll see this car really is fantastic.

I just like to tease you Larry because I know you appreciate both type of transmissions. And what a dilemma when a constructor literally offers the best of both worlds.

My wait was long and agonizing because of all the reasons we know. If I was told from the beginning what to expect, the experience would’ve been better. But you’re absolutely right, things went extremely fast once I got my slot. And I must admit that sharing my journey with you, Bobby, LK and all the members on this Forum was a blast…even if it made my wife sometime jealous. LOL! Thanks guys!

Yes 6MT for me! (although the PDK is amazing). You beat me to it, was gonna ask what you thought of the slate grey/chalk interior in person? Guess time will tell how it wears but i think it's a stunning combo. Would be too nervous myself to order it. Maybe you can be my test mule and by the time i get a slot we'll know how it wears! Of course we need to see all these pics after you give her a nice bath. How long in total did it take from the time you were given the slot to now? Maybe that will give me hope. My dealer still thinks he's "sure" i'll get a MY2023.

I certainly hope you won't have to wait to see if the leather in my car wears out before you get your own 992!
I will protect the leather and whatever happens happens. Life is too short and I've never had a light leather interior. As for the waiting period, everything goes fast once you have your allocation. In my case, about 2 months as you can see in the attached schedule. The car actually arrived earlier on May 12! Took longer from Halifax to MTL than from Germany to Canada!

Damn the GTS stick is shorter throw? Didn't know that. Guess I'll have to get by with my S. First world problems.

FYI, our friend @yrralis1 is affectionately (and respectfully) known as the "Pope"...or Larry. LOL! He will confirm that the GTS's manual has a shift lever that's 0.4 inch shorter.

Absolutely gorgeous! And i am sooooo jealous! No, actually happy for you for waiting so long. That combo is stunning. Love the 2-tone interior and as a bonus will be nice and cool on a sunny day.

Thanks @Als992! The color combo was a « gamble ». I needed a change from the traditional white and black but didn’t have the guts to go for Python green! 😉 It’s not a « mean machine » but I’m extremely happy with the « urban chic » look! 🤪LOL!

That said, the 911 looks great in every color…except maybe…racing yellow (apologies to those yellow lovers)! 🤪

Now, time to enjoy that engine and that spectacular manual transmission! 😊

i hear you. MY SA told me that they're now offering artic grey as a colour option for MY23 and if it's true that sounds enticing to me with a red interior but yes i agree there are not many bad options. Anxious to see what you think of the drive, and suspension...enjoy every minute.

Did you see pics of Bobby’s 992? It’s the same combo you were considering GT Silver over Black/Bordeau leather. Beautiful!

I got to the throat a bit late as we had a tropical storm here last night and yesterday. The car is absolutely beautiful. I’ll still in amazement that all of us got them after all that we went through. It’s like each one of us had our own story of the plight of getting this car. Congratulations again! It will be a huge difference from your Boxster!

My own SA told me that the supply chain is now completely « broken » and they receive NO more updates from Porsche. We were lucky in our bad luck!

yeah i think i was after all you guys with my deposit in Nov'21. Still no available slot. He also told me they took deliver of ZERO sports cars last month....that's crazy. Encouraging that once you do get a slot, it moves quickly. I may need you guys as my support group.

I looked at the pics again as my iPhone shows them smaller . I love the plate too !! I can't get yrralis1 (too many digits) . I also think its really cool how they have a celebratory car cover unveiling . I have seen pictures of some elaborate deliveries . Here its pretty straight forward . When I took my car they let me know things are though. I know these guys for years and see how tense they are .
They have to make their money on used cars so your trade in can become desirable . Thats what had surprised me with your Boxster . They kept you in ,limbo so long after you gave it to them. I think they key is early deposits . I have seriously considered a 992.2 GTS deposit . Its just so far out and I am not so young anymore . Plus its expensive and getting any cheaper . Also note that I end up buying two at a time. My wife's Macan is adding miles . I have been driving it more too . It was a lifesaver in the storm . WE had 9 inches of rain in 24 hrs .. People are stalling out everywhere . You guys have the snow and we have the tropical stuff . My new car is right back in there garage and my 997 is at the highest point of my driveway . I am not in flood zone luckily bur I take no chances plus its postponed where a roof tile cant hit it easily if the wind kicks up.

If you're seriously considering changing model in 2-3 years, you should definitely put your name on that waiting list. No obligations. You can skip your turn if not ready when the time comes. In Montreal, they only asked for a 1K deposit. But IMO, you won't get a call before 2 years!

That’s a good point thanks for the advice! How do you like the manual transmission?

I just Love it! But I’m biased because I think it just LOOKS GREAT! Drove only 75 miles since I left the dealer yesterday but I can say

1. Lovely well-weighted short shifter
2. Crisp solid shifts
3. Clear engagement point (midway)
4. Gearing seems fairly long but I don’t mind
5. Clutch pedal is ideally suited

LOVE IT!

I like to joke but it wasn't "nice" at all. I think it was Saturday May 21 when all hell broke loose here and in Ontario. Sorry to hear about all those trees on your property. We were VERY lucky spending the week-end in the Quebec Eastern Townships. We had 1 hour of downpour and then this...

It was May 21. We had 7 guests at the cottage at the time the storm came through. Three trees fell 20’ from the house. We were lucky! Lost power for 7 days. In the city we did not loose power at all.

Terrible! 😕 Here, the Laurentians (Tremblant) and western QC were most affected. The Greater Montreal area was spared as the storm moved from Ontario through to Outaouais, the Laurentians, etc. Must have have been a nightmare for you without power for 7 days!!! Some couldn't even leave their cottages because the roads were blocked by fallen trees. Was it your case?
