You were born under a lucky star Bobby because I honestly think that the allocation process is beyond just deep pockets or even delicious donuts! It's a mystery, a lottery or...a miracle if you believe in divine intervention! :p
I agree. I was expecting at least a year wait, but I got "lucky" that it was only around 8 months from order to delivery. In hindsight, I would do it the same way because driving in my custom built 911 has been pure joy!

So true, I still think I was the “greasy” wheel who made the most noise that received my allocation. I was certainly not their best or biggest customer but just enjoyed visiting the dealership and talking about Porsche. I would go visit your favorite or preferred Dealership, shake some hands, bring some donuts once in a while…it worked for me.
which dealerships did you ‘visit’? where did you ultimately get a car? Thanks.

Welcome! Some great tips on the above posts. As mentioned, pre-owned prices are higher, but a great way to learn the market. Dealer relationships are key. Visit them all and find a good rep. Get to know the Sales Mgr. Donuts, beer or wine accordingly when you find the right one. Good Luck! The 992 is worth the wait.
