Hey Everyone…First time Porsche owner and new to the form!

After what I would say is a lifetime, we are humbled, blessed, and delighted to share our 2023 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S.

Pouring rain and all…we took delivery today, Friday, March 10, 2023 from Porsche Ontario!

Straight on a flatbed to GP for PPF, Ceramic & Tint.

I only drove it on to the flatbed and off the flatbed :)

Will share more pictures & videos of the process!

Looking forward to everyone’s feedback, ideas and suggestions.

I promised myself no mods but already ordered the clear side markers from Suncoast ha!

Awesome !! Love white !!! Its the fastest color !!! Beautiful car . Glad you got it and made it here . I can't wait to read your impressions as a first time owner .
@yrralis1 White certainly is the fastest color ha! Thus far, just driving it up on to the flatbed and off, I’m at a loss for words. Its going to take a bit longer than I anticipated for PPF, Ceramic and Tint but well worth the wait imo. SoCal rock chips, either on the freeway or city, are killleerrrsss!!!

Welcome Sway and congrats. Looks great! Already diving head first into the side marker preference debate! Haha. Enjoy.
@Als992 Thank You!! It is indeed breathtakingly beautiful. Had no idea side markers would be such a debate, pretty straightforward for me, matches the clear on the break lights and flows incredibly well with the headlights. It looks awesome imo!

Congrats Sway and welcome to the Forum! Some compare this unique experience to fatherhood (without the diaper changing)! :p And your "baby" is beautiful.

While we wait for your first driving impressions, if you wish please share your build and and let us know what made you go for AWD? It is an ongoing debate on the Forum along with....side marker preference. LOL!

Finally, MT or PDK?

Looking forward to reading you.
@CH61 Appreciate it much bud. In my humble opinion, all wheel drive on a super car is a must. Besides the obvious advantages in wet or snowy conditions, I want the advantage of all 4 wheels working together for my overall driving and safety. Plus it’ll come in handy at PECLA. Bottom line, to each their own! Side markers just make it look cleaner and flow seamlessly with the headlights and the tail lights. Ohh and PDK here! Below are the build options:

Carrera White Metallic
Full Leather Interior
Rear Axle Steering
Model Designation On Rear In High Gloss Black
“PORSCHE” Logo On Rear In High Gloss Black
20”/21” RS Spyder Design Wheels
Wheels Painted in Satin Black
Exclusive Design Fuel Cap
Electric Slide/Tilt Sunroof In Glass
Porsche Crest On Headrest (Front)
Exterior Mirror Lower Trim & Base In Exterior Color
PDK Gear Selector In Aluminum
Central Techometer In White
Under Door Puddle Light Projectors
Sport Chrono Stopwatch Dial In White
SportDesign Side Skirts
Ornamental Porsche Crest
Sport Package
Sport Chrono Package
PASM Sport Suspension (Lowered 10mm)
Sport Exhaust System Including Tailpipes in Black
Premium Package
Lane Change Assist (LCA)
Ambient Lighting
Burmester High-End Surround Sound System
Power Folding Exterior Mirrors
Storage Package
Ventilated Seats
Surround View
LED-Matrix Design Headlights In Black Including PDLS+

I gave my guy all the time he needed . It took 4 days (including a Sunday ).
We are looking at last week of March as our needs Paint correction :(

I trust the team at GP because they are meticulous and perfectionists as I am.

But they do have 4 Porsches ahead of mine so it is understandable.

As the saying goes, “Patience is virtue” is what I keep telling myself. Woosaah

Your 992 has ALL the goodies! 👍 Enjoy and drive safe.
Go big or go home, right? First Porsche. First Supercar. Got everything we wanted except ACC. Felt the entire point of getting this 911 is to drive not cruise. We have the X for that ha!

Brand new and still needs paint correction!!!!

This is unfortunate and unexpected at this level.

No choice, have to get it done before the PPF goes on.

The shop sent pics & vids however I can’t upload the vids, still learning the form.

What do you all think?

It’s awesome when it’s finished though! Here is J-Lo after a monthly wax/boost.
Your baby is look beautiful!! That red top is just!!!! Flows so well with the red brake calipers.

Do you do this yourself or have someone come or take it to a shop?

That’s unacceptable.

The dealership should’ve at least seen and corrected the obvious paint defects like around the filler cap. Fortunately, that’s a easy fix.

Unfortunately the plastic scratches aren’t as easy to fix. Do they look as bad in real life as in the pictures?

I’d be talking to the SA or sales manager and have them help out with the cost to correct the paint. If the plastic is visible from a few feet away we‘d be discussing it as well.

Edit…I would accept that on my new pickup. Maybe even my Macan. I expect better on my 992.
Definetly will be sharing with the dealership tomorrow. Lets see what they have to say. Most likely, please bring it in and we’ll take care of it or give a parts credit because I am sure they do not want to compensate $$. But to deal with the hassle of towing it back to the dealer from GP and then back again. Might just take an offer for future detail.

Are they asking you for more money?

I don’t like it. I would first go in person and have them show me exactly what they’re trying to show you in these pictures. I’m not at my computer and an iPhone in a picture I don’t want to say anything.

I know my detailer since 2008 . I have never waited 2 1/2 weeks for a car. If there has ever been any kind of cosmetic blemish of any type, the first thing he does is asked me to come look at it in person. If I didn’t tell him that I trust him he proceeds, I think you should go in person . If he does, in fact, show you something then discuss it here.

I would never be able to do my own car anything close to what this guy does. People fly him into other countries to do their collection of cars. He is meticulous. I don’t have that skill.
Yup..being told they will see how the one-step correction goes and if needed, another go around. But it is freaking brand new. Smh!

Either way, it has to be done before PPF so no choice :(

Who is your guy..!?!?!! Must be one of kind. Do share plz!

I am at my computer now . Keep in. mind I am not a pro detail guy .

All I see is slight scuff on the light lens and glass roof . I looked for a good picture to show you how the car arrives . Its wrapped in paper . They tear it off . Those scuffs ought to come right out . I found this. When they tear off the paper its obviously stuck to the car but does not scratch it .

Yup..that’s how mine arrived as well. I am thinking this maybe the “porters” work wiping it down or half ass washing for delivery to us. What else can it be? I can’t think of anything else.

Wish I could upload videos here to show ya’ll more in detail.

None the less, will be going down to GP tomorrow morning to see first hand because I want to take this issue back to dealer for some sort of rectification.

I first read about my guy on an auto forum in the South Florida section in 2007 . Then it was the shop foreman who mentioned him as being the best in town at my dealership. His name was stated as "El Chino" but that isn't his real name . It's actually Yonny . His story is very interesting . 25 + years ago he worked in a body shop . Originally from Honduras he just worked on the cars until he caught the attention of a billionaire car collector . He noticed a talent and asked Chino to maintain his cars . I know guys here post their garages and mine is a mess but I have never seen anything like that collector's garage . Penthouse vaulted ceiling , air conditioned, hurricane proof, with a collection size of a football field . Some of the older classic cars Chino restored . Chino started finding very wealthy clients . I am beyond small, potatoes . Miami has some serious cars . After about 15 years the guy told Chino its time to get his own place and since he owns building leased him a small nice shop . It even has two lifts so he can get under the car to clean if needed .

In 2008 ceramic wasn't even "the thing" yet. Chino did cars old school with clay bar . When ceramic came out I was originally hesitant . Why mess with something that wasn't broken I thought. He had always done such good work but he convinced me that this was so much easier to maintain . In the long run. it actually costs less .

One of my cars is a 16 year old modded 911 Turbo in regular black . As you know it is the hardest color to maintain . It can swirl even if one breathes on it wrong . Chino maintained it all these years . When ceramic was done the car was 13 years old . It also had a few small, chips as I had never ppf it . When I showed up to pic up the car I found him in a little corner finishing up.

When I got my 992 GTS I decided to do the PPF . I rarely get chips and have never done the Macan . Chino has two sons . One is finishing Med school but the other wanted to learn Chino's skill . Since he was a little kid he watched his dad and learned . At 18 he began helping and now at 22 he is a master of ppf . He is also extremely talented at ceramic , The two of them combined leave me speechless . When they prepare a car for trade in years later I usually get a higher number because it looks better than when it was delivered .

Here is his son putting PPF on my 992 and the final product. Chino sent me a pic when they are working on it.
WOWWWWW!!! You are very lucky to have someone as such and close to you. Both look sexy af!

I would try a different place . This is a small forum and I love it but on Rennlist if you ask for a good detailer in your area you'd find one who won't make you wait 3 weeks . I am not ready to blame the dealership . A closeup picture might show the glue from the film as a swirl . I cant tell by the picture . You need to look at this in person .
GP came highly recommended from this Form and Rennlist.

Though they are 15%-20% above market, it is their precision, attention to the small details, quality, experience and finish of their work that made me decide to use their services for our baby.

I will see for myself today and further discuss with them.

Maybe only needs a polish as @BTD suggested.

Hey fells, so I went yesterday afternoon and had a good look. There are swirlies and webbing unfortunately. I believe when it was washed and prepped for delivery to us is when this may have happened. None the less, I have no choice but to get it taken care of. I’m so disappointed because now it adds more time to the car. And it’s been raining every other day here in SoCal…I mean we are in Sunny Cali, where’s our sun..!?!?!! Trying to stay positive here fellas.

Oh well, they should take care of it at no charge. Seems like they are responsible for it. Cold and very windy here in Pa. 40 degrees and 30 MPH winds…just lit 🔥 a fire.
Sharing the pics and videos with Porsche Ontario today. Lets see what they say. Let ya’ll know!

59 here in LA with the rain. And since we’re not used to an inclement weather here in SoCal, currently on “Flood Watch” ha!

I predict it will all turn out fine. Your comment on dismal weather made me think of Annie

The Sun'll Come Out Tomorrow
Bet Your Bottom Dollar That Tomorrow There'll Be Sun
Just Thinking About Tomorrow
Clears Away The Cobwebs And The Sorrow 'Til There's None
When I'm Stuck With A Day That's Gray And Lonely
I Stick Out My Chin And Grin And Say
The Sun'll Come Out Tomorrow
So You Gotta Hang On 'Til Tomorrow, Come What May
Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I Love You, Tomorrow
You're Always A Day Away

Stay safe!
Just the ability to name all of those songs from Annie SCARES me! I’m a middle aged guy just trying to keep rock alive! 🎸🎸🎸🤣
No judgements here or maybe a little Hahaa

Beautiful 992 @SwayFam! I may have missed it, but what was the time-frame from when you ordered your 992 to receiving it? I ordered mine earlier this year and I expect it will be awhile before I get mine.

Congrats!
Congrats man! Took almost a year but well worth it. What color did you go with? Share your build with us!
