Happy birthday to ME! Soon i will be a happy part of this exclusive 911 Ownership club! Yup, 15 months to the day, yesterday, i signed off on my final spec (for now) and sealed the deal with contract in hand for my T allocation. To sum up, I've been waiting for an 'S' with no allocation in sight then was potentially offered the T last week. So as i was looking at the pros and cons of both then decided to go for the T. Then guess what? Out of the blue my SA and SM tells me that all of a sudden i can have my S instead! I now had the choice between the T and S. He called it a "curveball", i call it the best case scenario! So i thought long and hard and realized now the T is perfect for me. Having given the choice for both originally (as a must have manual man) i most likely would have chosen the T originally in the first place as it's almost exactly what i'm looking for in a 911 although would have been ecstatic to get the S i actually ordered. No bad choice here. Freeze date 3/3/23 and eta approx 5/31/23. So here's my build. https://cc.porsche.com/icc/ccCall.do?userID=CA&lang=ca&PARAM=parameter_internet_ca&webcode=PPUEQV19 . I switched it up a bit after realizing i really liked the lizard stitch to give it that little extra pop to the interior. It is a sports car after all! Sorry, Larry, the sunroof stays!
It's perfect! Good job. (y)

only thing i'm not 100% sure about is the "trim inlays in exterior colour". Figure less piano black near the cup holder and dash = less fingerprints and dust showing. Free option on the T an i opted for it as i think GT silver may be the only colour it works with imo. Having said that, anyone see this in person? Don't want it to look tacky.

Either way it will show dust but maybe not fingerprints. Congrats on the 911!

There is a lot of trim . I tried something similar with my 997 . Its ok but not amazing . I replaced the manual shifter with real aluminum . as well as emergency brake , had the console painted silver (aftermarket .. body shop) , and got race pedals (Rennline) . I also have a Techart steering wheel (love it .. expensive though ). Pic was taken at night . The white dials BTW were standard on 997.1 Turbo. I didn't love them but didnt hate them . indifferent about them . There was less trim though in a 997 than a 992.

Thanks KM, yeah i saw that. Consensus seems to be it's ok in GT silver (which is my colour - for now) but not in bright colours and that's my thinking too. I'm usually not a big fan of this but silver seems subtle and a good option to piano black in high traffic area like the cup holder and like i said may hide dust on the dash more. Don't think I'd pay extra for it but for some reason it's a N/C option on the T. That's Porsche option logic for you.

That's a lot of work Larry! Interesting that you painted the console silver, i don't mind that. I think the 992, especially the T has a LOT of black in the dash (more so than the S) so some silver may soften it a bit, and like you can probably take or leave it but as a n/c option may be worth a try. Well i have 2 weeks to decide.

I was not looking forward to living with the black piano trim on my 23 Macan. It has haptic buttons as well so the piano trim gets lots of finger traffic. I found a post where a guy put xpel stealth wrap on it (they make a pre cut kit) so I tried it. The wrap eliminates the finger print and scratch concerns.

I haven’t gotten around to researching if it’s been done on a 992 yet as my car is still a few months away. Clear wrap would also offer the scratch protection without changing the look. Just find a good installer and tell him to use the water sparingly to avoid issues with any buttons.

before and after shot that my installer took.

That’s the reason I’m not replacing my 2017 Macan S! 😂 Love your wrap! 👍

Wow, i never would have even thought they offered this! That is a great alternative and something to think about. I almost bought a Macan GTS (twice) in 2018 and 2022 but went another route as my daily and the 911 of course. I love the new Macan GTS but do miss the old-fashioned buttons. Thanks for sharing.

I saw this in person in GT silver and it looked fantastic, breaking up the black-on-black. That's why I decided to order it on mine.

Why did you chose the standard interior in lizard green and not the extended leather one? I chose the black with extended leather to make the interior feel more premium, but I appreciate the pop of colour in what you've chosen (unfortunately the lizard green with extended leather is too pricy for me)

That last option is the one that I found extremely appealing. It is impressive how the lizard green goes with the GT silver which I never expected. That guy on the Macan forum named trusted posted his 718 Spyder in the combination

Thanks GP! That's great to know. You never know until you see it in person. As for the Lizard Green, I originally spec'd the basic interior not even considering Lizard. I tried to spice it up with red seat belts and a red tach but it just wasn't popping enough. Then i tried the lizard and wow. Love how the deviated stitching pops out at you. It's more of a "racier" spec than luxurious but that's ok as it's a T. Considering I'm most likely choosing GT silver which is on the conservative/classic side i wanted something that would give it a little spice without going over the top so Lizard highlights fits the bill. Never really thought the Lizard with GT S would work but it does as silver is a neutral color. By extended leather do you mean the door sills, fuse box cover option or the full leather package? Regardless i didn't go extended because there's enough of a contrast for my liking and i think the standard interior would be easier to clean, and more leather = more weight albeit not much more. And as for the full leather pkg, although very nice didn't want to spent the extra $6K or so difference as i'm sure the standard interior is still pretty nice. Do you care to share your build? I'd be curious. Thx.

Yeah, I meant the full leather package including dash, doors...etc My current build code is 911 Carrera T | Porsche Car Configurator, changed slightly since my original order, mainly deleting the sunroof as I sat in a base with a sunroof and without and liked the feeling without.

Mine should arrive end of Q2. What about yours?
