On my C4S, I have a whole body wrap, and put the factory rear hip protector on top of that. Still I managed to throw up a small stone from the front tire, which grazed, gouged, the flat part of the rear fender well, missing the double protection. I've thought about asking the detail shop to make a modified hip protector that goes all the way to the wheel opening.
